Elements and Principles of Design

Description: For this project I created a presentation to show the different elements and principles of design through pictures that I took. Each slide is dedicated to one of the elements or principles of art that includes a grade level friendly definition and a photo that is used as an example of how that element is present. This project is good to show student how they can find these elements and principles out in the real world in almost anything. Extension Activity: An extension activity could be students have to find different elements and principles of design from magazines. The students would have to choose one of the elements of design and then create a collage of magazine clippings that represent their chosen element or principle. The students will need to find at least 10 different images. After the students are done, they will participate in a gallery walk and they will get to look at each others collages. Footprint Introduction

 Description:  The footprint activity was used to introduce ourselves to the class and to get to know one another. We began the project by tracing our footprints using any color of conduction paper we liked. The footprint should include you name that is easily legible and have objects and/or drawings to represent your own individual interests. For this project, we needed to show considerable attention to the craftsmanship of our footprint by neatly trimmed, securely attached, and appropriately spaced items onto your print. We were also instructed to use 3 different types of media–markers, crayons, magazines, etc. When presenting your footprints explain what each item is and why you included it.  My footprint included:  A volleyball, basketball, and softball to represent the sports I grew up playing, a leaf because my favorite season is fall, a book for my enjoyment of reading, a whistle because I am a coach, a jar of pickles because they are my favorite food, headpho...
